FIRE number
FIRE stands for Financial Independence, Retire Early. Your FIRE number is the amount that could cover your yearly spending with a safe withdrawal rate. Many Europeans use 3 to 3.5% instead of the American 4%, because of lower expected returns and longer retirements.
Green: your portfolio. Red: your FIRE number. Illustration only, in today's euros and before taxes. Pensions (state and workplace) can lower the amount you need.
